Finlayson’s Roof Walk, Tampere
Roof Walk City View, located on the roofs of the historic Finlayson factory buildings, is Finland’s first rooftop walking trail. The attraction combines a tourist experience, urban history, and safe exploration high above downtown Tampere.
Vesivek supplied roof safety products that enable safe access to the roof and, at the same time, upgraded the buildings’ other roof safety features to meet current requirements. The project emphasized safe movement, durable structures, and respect for the historically significant environment.
Among other items, roof bridges, safety equipment, and roof safety products were delivered to the site, enabling safe movement along the route in all conditions. Vesivek is also responsible for the site’s roof safety maintenance contract and for the regular inspection of the products.
Tays’s roof safety measures were updated to meet current requirements
Tays wanted to ensure that roof safety at its properties complied with current regulations and safety requirements. The importance of roof safety is particularly emphasized in large and public buildings, as maintenance and repair work is regularly performed on the roof under demanding conditions.
Vesivek conducted a roof safety inspection at the site to assess the current condition of the buildings and identify any potential deficiencies. Among other things, the inspection identified the need for upgrades to access rails and walkways, which would improve roof safety to meet current regulations.
Roof safety products, such as access rails and other solutions designed to support safe movement on the roof, were delivered to the site. Vesivek was also responsible for the installations, which were carried out in collaboration with the client, taking into account the specific requirements of the hospital environment.
The roofs of the Kansiareena require specialized expertise
The Tampere Kansiareena is one of Finland’s most significant construction projects, combining a multipurpose arena, residential towers, hotels, and commercial spaces. This architecturally challenging complex also required exceptional design and execution of the roofing solutions.
Vesivek supplied the project with a comprehensive range of roof safety products, rainwater systems, and special solutions tailored to the specific site. The project included, among other things, roof bridges, access rails, snow guards, safety cables, and balcony drainage products. The complex roof structures and unique details also required the products and fastening solutions to be customized to meet the site’s specific needs.
The project emphasized delivery reliability, safe implementation, and the ability to respond quickly to challenging design requirements. Vesivek’s in-house product development and manufacturing enabled the implementation of specialized solutions without compromise, even in demanding urban environments.
The balcony drainage system for an apartment building in Hyvinkää was implemented using a custom solution
In an apartment building in Hyvinkää that was completed in 2014, the lack of drainage on the balconies caused problems for residents for years. Rainwater and washwater flowed from the upper balconies to the lower floors, causing damage to the building’s structure, furnishings, and living comfort.
The project required a solution that would work within the existing structures without extensive renovations. Vesivek’s experts designed a customized balcony drainage system for the site in collaboration with the company’s product development team. The implementation included specially sized components that were precisely adapted to the building’s structure and facade.
The project was carried out in a challenging environment in the heart of downtown Hyvinkää, above a shopping center, which required special arrangements for the installation work as well. Vesevek’s in-house design, production, and installation expertise enabled the project to be completed in a controlled manner, resulting in a clean and polished final product.
